8 Ball League Format
GAME: Call Pocket 8 Ball. (10) Points for the winner of each game plus his spot (handicap differential) with the loser scoring (1) point for each of his pocketed balls plus his spot (handicap differential). There will be (5) rounds per match.
Time Out: No coaching will be allowed during the play of the game.
Teams: Each team will have (5) players and play a “Round-Robin” match against the opposing team.
Cost: $40 per team per match, regardless of the number of players.
Scoring:
Each player’s total score will be a combination of spot points plus balls pocketed.
When a player scratches on the 8 ball, he loses the game and scores the number of balls he has off the table. The opponent gets 10 points plus his spot.
The team with the highest match total points wins the match.
Team positions will be ranked by the match point totals. Each team captain has the responsibility to submit the scores.
Team Payouts: The top 5 teams
Individual Payout: The player with the highest point total for their first (X) games at the end of the season will be paid $100 and will have their name inscribed on the TWB cup which resides at Lake Ashton billiard room. Any ties will be broken by when they played head to head.
Handicap System:
PLAYERS: Computed from the most recent 25 scores reported during play.
NOTE: The handicap committee has the authority to change anyone’s handicap at any time if “sandbagging” is suspected.
Short Team: The captain of the short team must make a reasonable effort to field a full team with any sub. If he was not successful and only 3 or 4 players will be playing their match, place their names on the top 3 or 4 lines on their side of the score sheet. The opposing team’s captain will select one of the 3 or 4 players on that team to also play in position 4 (and/or) 5. Can’t be the same player
